With “Ellenicum,” the Ambrosio winery (Ferdinando Ambrosio) presents a liquid monument to the winemaking traditions of Campania. The name pays homage to the historical roots of the Aglianico grape variety, which was brought to Italy by the Greeks—who referred to it as “Vitis Hellenica.” It is on the mineral-rich, black volcanic soils surrounding Mount Vesuvius that this noble vine reaches absolute perfection.
